Poles are angry over a government advertisement aimed at raising the country’s fertility rates. The video shows some rabbits and a rabbit ‘narrator’ who calls for a healthy lifestyle to push up fertility rates. A political cartoonist, Andrzej Mleczko, hit back by publishing a cartoon of a rabbit asking for 800 condoms from a shop owner. The rabbit comparison in the advertisement hurt many Poles who said the €706,378 wasted on the campaign should have been distributed among childless women to help them conceive through In Vitro Fertilization.
