Shanghai: Starbucks is opening its biggest and “most beautiful” café in the world to date in Shanghai on Wednesday (Dec 6). The mega store called Reserve Roastery is the second one of its kind after the outlet in Seattle. The facility is huge — 30,000 square feet, half the size of a football field — and offers customers “fully immersive, sensorial coffee experience”. It features three coffee bars, one of which is 88 feet long. The outlet has an Italian bakery and a ceiling made of 10,000 handmade wooden hexagon-shaped tiles. A special feature of the cafe is a two-storey copper coffee roasting cask. China is the fastest growing market for Starbucks with more than 3,000 stores in 136 cities. Shanghai has more than 600 Starbucks locations, the largest number in any city in the world.
