London: A woman died at a pedestrian crossing after being hit by two trucks and two cars early on Monday (Dec 11) with none of the drivers stopping at the scene. Police believe the woman in her twenties yet to be identified was first hit by a heavy goods vehicle and subsequently by a lorry and two cars as she was crossing Norwood Road in Station Rise, Tulse Hill, south London. Local police have appealed to eyewitnesses to contact them. Local Labour MP Helen Hayes expressed shock over the incident. Many people in the neighbourhood said the drivers involved in the suspected hit-and-run were heartless to speed away without stopping to save the woman’s life.
