Trump Tower fire leaves elderly resident dead, 6 firefighters injured

A fire that broke out on the 50th floor of Trump Tower in New York late on Saturday left an elderly man dead and six firefighters injured. Todd Brassner, 67, an art dealer and resident of the building, was found unconscious and unresponsive when firefighters arrived at the scene, police said. Brassner was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital. The medical examiner’s office would determine the cause of death as part of the investigation into the fire incident. The fire broke out around 6 pm and was brought under control at 9 pm. The injuries to the six firefighters were not life-threatening. Three months ago, a minor fire broke out in a cooling tower on the roof of the tower. Two people were injured in the fire caused by electrical heaters inside the cooling tower.
