Dutch military police on Friday shot and wounded a man armed with a knife who burst into their office at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. Around Friday afternoon, a man who looked confused came into the office and threatened one of the military personnel with a knife. The man was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital in Amsterdam. The incident triggered panic on the airport’s vast plaza and forced a brief evacuation of parts of the airport, one of Europe’s busiest. The situation has returned to normal with train running again and planes departing from the airport.
