Hunter faces probe after killing British cyclist in French Alps

A hunter is being investigated after he shot dead a 34-year-old British cyclist who sped down a wooded track in the French Alps on Saturday evening.

Prosecutors say the 22-year-old hunter, who was not identified, is facing probe on suspicion of aggravated manslaughter since he could have easily identified the Briton who was sporting a coloured helmet and riding a coloured mountain bike.

The shooting happened near Montriond, Thonon-Les-Bains, around 6 pm on a track frequently used as Marc Sutton, above, (Image Credit: Facebook) passed a group of about ten hunters.

The hunter was taken to the hospital for shock after the shooting.

Sutton, who hails from Wales, moved four years ago to Les Gets where he ran a private catering business and opened his own restaurant earlier this year.
