Germany bans smartwatches for children

Germany has banned children’s smartwatches with one-way monitoring system as it violates the country’s surveillance laws and helps hackers to track and spy on children. Parents have been using them to listen to teachers in classrooms. Telecoms regulator, the Federal Network Agency, has now asked them to destroy these devices which they view as illegal transmitters. Earlier this year, the agency had banned a talking doll ‘My Friend Cayla’ for similar issues.
